He/she will be involved in all phases of the project life cycle and will have significant involvement with engineering, procurement, manufacture, fabrication, transportation, and all associated documentation & drawings.
At all times carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with Companies Policies and Procedures.
General Duties
Health and Safety
  • To ensure safe working practices are observed and the Health and Safety Policy is adhered to always
  • Reporting any hazards or incidents to the appropriate Safety representative
  • To maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times
Customer Service
  • Taking and directing calls to ensure an efficient telephone service
  • Representing the business in a positive and professional manner when greeting visitors in person or whilst on the phone
Specific Activities
  • Provide engineering support to the assigned HPC package(s) in terms of regular design reviews, technical query management, interface management and general project engineering
  • Host and progress the weekly Client conference call to monitor, track and record all project information
  • To regularly progress and maintain the Project Risk Register and to monitor all pending ERS, Compensation Events and Early Warning Notices  
  • Attend the Client kick-off meetings, Pre-Production meetings, and all other adhoc meetings that arise throughout the project lifecycle ensuring to action/ communicate instructions as directed
  • Maintains project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, managing changes to scope, and highlighting any discrepancies.
  • Report all delays / technical issues to the project and advise/recommended remedial solutions. Facilitate timely problem resolution with all project team members.
  • Writing technical documentation to support the projects
  • Manage subcontractors/vendor including inspections, review of design changes, NCR’s, monitoring progress, reviewing as-built data, etc.
  • Ensuring that subcontractor/vendor documentation is issued on schedule and in compliance to specification, scope of work and subcontract terms and conditions.
  • Ensure adequate shipping / packaging / load-out for transportation to final destination. Interface with Logistics team for the collection, transport and receipt of all products to final destination.
  • Responsible to co-ordinate and monitor all testing needed throughout the project life cycle including EMC, Environmental, Seismic and Regulatory Fire Testing
  • Coordinating all applicable activities associated with the smooth transition from product development to Series Manufacture
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
  • 5 years+ design experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Relevant Nuclear sector experience and/or the desire to work in nuclear
  • Experience of working within HVAC, but not essential
  • A self-starter, who works well independently and gets things done, completer finisher
  • Collaborative in approach, who engages with peers, and others alike.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Preparation and presentation of engineering reports and papers
  • Familiar with structure of typical engineering documents
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers and customers
  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience for working in an engineering environment
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Familiar with recognised quality system & legislative requirements
  • Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information
Desirable
  • Good understanding of contractual, technical and regulatory aspects
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to travel to customer’s locations (which includes overseas) as and when required
  • Good technical knowledge (of products)
  • Ability to chair meetings with multiple stakeholders, ensuring all parties have an opportunity to provide input and feel their contribution is valued.
  • Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables
  • Awareness of Quality Assurance including ISO 9001:2015

Education
Essential
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management qualification
  • Problem solving Techniques
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving License)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent level of IT skills
  • Should be a Self-starter
Desirable
  • Knowledge of heating and ventilation market (HVAC)
  • Continuous Improvement Techniques
  • Understanding of lean processes
  • Awareness of current standards, regulations, legislation and technical developments
  • Nuclear Safety
