Leveraging over 25 years of product development and equipment innovation, our client delivers industry leading solutions for soil erosion control, land reclamation, revegetation, sediment control, waste disposal, fugitive dust and odours in a wide range of industrial and commercial settings. The company has a growing portfolio of patented products and is looking to dramatically expand their technical, sales and marketing capability globally. 

Position:

The UK Sales Manager reports directly to the International Business Development Manager and is responsible for driving the company’s growth in the UK. 

The Sales Manager must:

  • Maintain deep understanding of, and working relationship with, existing customers
  • Develop a strong pipeline of new projects, clients and customers
  • Identify the right product or service to address customer’s needs
  • Develop data and analytics to support recommendations
  • Communicate value propositions both verbally and in writing (both 1-on-1 and in group settings)
  • Work independently to meet established growth targets

The Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying and qualifying leads, interviewing prospects, determining customer needs, coordinating/participating in onsite demonstrations, working with the customers to develop cost/benefit analyses, creating customized proposals, and acting as a liaison for all orders, training and customer service. 

Successful candidates must possess a combination of skills that include an ability to deeply understand the technical merits of our products, and quickly understand the technical needs of a variety of end users and industries. The candidate needs to possess a unique set of interpersonal skills that allow her/him to successfully engage in both blue and white-collar settings. Internally, the Sales Manager will be required to interact with executive leadership, marketing and customer service. Externally, the UK Sales Manager will be required to interact with experienced regulators, engineering managers, senior operations managers, contractors and on-site operators. The ideal person for this role will need to be highly organized, energetic, confident and a self-starter who possesses a combination of technical, sales and interpersonal skills.   

Required Skills:  

  • Engineering or technical degree required (preferably Civil, Environmental or Industrial Preferred)
  • Sales and/or application engineering experience (will hire talented entry level engineers)
  • Strong ability to simplify technical concepts and present ideas and information accurately and concisely.
  • Highly organized with a strong ability to drive process without direct reports
  • Results-driven
  • Creative 
  • Ability to work from home 40% of the time. Willing to travel 60% of the time.
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to run multiple projects at the same time
  • Above average experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Ability to utilize CRM system.
  • Comfortable driving and flying throughout the region.
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
  • Intellectual curiosity (Strong desire to understand industry trends and competitive products)
  • Ability to work with engineers and influencers to get product specified on project plans
  • Ability to work with public agencies to obtain product approval and favourable specifications
  • Willingness to safely lift bags of product when required
